Why Is Writing Like An Addiction?
Have you ever stopped to consider that you have so much to say?
But when the time comes to share something with someone, do you feel like that person isn’t giving you the necessary attention?
There’s a deeply rooted, almost innate belief that writing is just putting words on paper, or in our modern age, on a keyboard. But I can assure you it’s not that simple. If you’re reading this right now, take a moment to think.
How many thoughts do you have each day that you’d like to share with others, but there’s a greater force that prevents you?
That’s precisely what writing does; it gives you the opportunity to express all your concerns, all your hopes, all your fears, and free yourself from the oppression of not being able to express every thought.
But don’t fall into the trap; there are many forms of writing.
Every time you make a decision in your life, you’re writing.
Every time you decide to love and create a new life with the person you love, you’re writing.
Writing is addictive and a beautiful sensation because you’re traveling to the future.
Every time.
Your words are etched in time.
And if the people of the future can read what I and every person write today or have written in the past, then words travel through time, where space is of no importance. Only the words and the thoughts that provoked them. And to all the people who read them, they will mark a before and an after.
Writing is addictive, yes, but it’s also a fuel for the soul.
Writing is addictive, but it’s also happiness.
